Tree Planting

Planted over 118,960 tree seedlings since campaign to date across the county

School Tree Planting Initiative

• Phase 1: Distributed and planted 100 seedlings in all 1134 public primary schools and 354 public secondary schools in Homa Bay County
• Phase 2: Planted 100 seedlings in all public schools in Rangwe & to accomplish 30 schools remaining. Karachuonyo, Parts of Ndhiwa (Kologi & Kosewe Ward) & Part of Kasipul (West Kasipul Ward)

Other Environmental Initiatives

• Market Solid Waste Management Installation: Installed in major markets in the Sub-Counties
• Environmental Ambassadors: Registered 8 environmental ambassadors CBOs from each Sub-County
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Ongoing for trees planted in Phase I
• Phase II Tree Planting, Growing & Monitoring: To be conducted in Kabondo Kasipul, Suba North, Suba South, Homa Bay, Part of Ndhiwa, Parts of Kasipul by the end of 2027
• Solid Waste Management: 20 More Waste Bins to be distributed in various markets in Rangwe Sub-County

Hygiene Support

• Distributed over 5000 cartons of Sanitary Pads and soaps to Boys & Girls #Bensuda Pad a Girl, Bensuda Birth a Boy.
• Distributed dignity packs to girls, & 22 Sponsored Teenage Mothers

NHIF Card Sensitization

Conducted Awareness Campaigns on the importance of acquiring NHIF cards.

Sexual Reproductive Health and Gender-Based Violence

Organized sensitization programs across the Counties.

Socio-Economic Empowerment Day

1st Edition Launched in Kasipul Constituency, issued cheque amounting to 9,359,364.80 million.

Groups that benefitted includes:

• Self-Help groups & CBOs of Youths, Women & PWDs across Homa Bay County, with Wards which did not benefit to be served before 2027

The Socio-Economic Empowerment is also meant for Table Banking Activities, Increased Capital Base for small SMEs, Purchase of Tents & Chairs and Youth groups projects

CBO Support

Apart from supporting existing CBOs, since inception in office we have established:

1. The Great Rachuonyo CBO for Kasipul, Kabondo and Karachuonyo Constituencies
2. HOSRAN CBO for Ndhiwa, Suba North, Suba South, Rangwe & Homa Bay Town constituencies.

Our future plan is to host a 2nd phase of Socio-Economic Empowerment before 2027
